Position Summary
Doxprint is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to provide overall leadership for manufacturing operations, including production planning, personnel, equipment, materials, quality, process performance, and continuous improvement.
The Manufacturing Manager will ensure that production operations meet customer requirements while maintaining high standards for quality, efficiency, safety, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day manufacturing operations.
- Establish production priorities and schedules.
- Lead production supervisors, operators, technicians, and support personnel.
- Monitor production performance, quality, capacity, waste, and delivery.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, materials, prepress, and fulfillment teams.
- Establish manufacturing procedures and performance standards.
- Ensure appropriate control of sensitive production materials and products.
- Review production performance and implement improvement initiatives.
- Develop staffing and equipment requirements.
- Participate in capital-equipment planning.
- Monitor production costs and resource utilization.
- Lead investigations into significant production and quality issues.
- Support employee training and development.
- Establish manufacturing KPIs and report results to senior management.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of manufacturing experience.
- 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of quality, materials, equipment, and process improvement.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple production priorities.
Preferred Experience
Experience managing print manufacturing, specialty printing, labels, certificates, diplomas, secure documents, packaging, or other precision manufacturing operations.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position divides its time between an office and the production floor. The essential functions typically require the ability to:
- Walk and stand on the production floor for extended periods, and sit at a computer for extended periods.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Use a computer, keyboard and standard office equipment.
Time on the production floor involves exposure to operating industrial equipment, moderate to high noise levels, and inks, solvents and paper dust. Required personal protective equipment is provided and must be worn in production areas.
