Position Summary
The Staff Accountant performs day-to-day accounting activities and supports the Accounting Manager with financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile financial transactions.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly financial close.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare customer invoices and monitor account balances.
- Assist with expense reporting and financial documentation.
- Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
- Assist with inventory-related accounting and production costing.
- Prepare routine financial reports and spreadsheets.
- Support audits, tax preparation, and other financial projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience.
- Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based. The essential functions typically require the ability to:
- Sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, such as files, supplies and sample materials.
- Use a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone and standard office equipment for most of the workday.
The work environment is a typical office setting within a manufacturing facility, with occasional exposure to production-area noise.
