Position Summary
The Industrial Engineer analyzes Doxprint’s manufacturing operations, workflow, production capacity, labor utilization, equipment utilization, and material movement to improve operational efficiency while maintaining quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing workflows and processes.
- Develop process-flow documentation.
- Conduct time studies and capacity analyses.
- Identify production bottlenecks.
- Analyze labor and equipment utilization.
- Support production scheduling and capacity planning.
- Develop operational metrics.
- Analyze waste, downtime, and rework.
- Recommend improvements to facility layout and material flow.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Work with production and engineering teams to implement improvements.
- Evaluate the operational impact of new equipment and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Engineering, or related field.
- Experience analyzing manufacturing processes.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of process mapping and capacity analysis.
- Strong spreadsheet and data-analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position divides its time between an office and the production floor. The essential functions typically require the ability to:
- Walk and stand on the production floor for extended periods, and sit at a computer for extended periods.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Use a computer, keyboard and standard office equipment.
Time on the production floor involves exposure to operating industrial equipment, moderate to high noise levels, and inks, solvents and paper dust. Required personal protective equipment is provided and must be worn in production areas.
