Position Summary

The Die-Cutting Operator is responsible for setting up and operating die-cutting equipment used to produce specialty printed products, labels, cards, folders, certificates, and other custom components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate die-cutting equipment.
  • Install and align approved dies and tooling.
  • Review production specifications and approved samples.
  • Perform test runs and make necessary machine adjustments.
  • Verify dimensions and positioning.
  • Monitor production for cutting defects and misalignment.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout production.
  • Maintain production and inspection records.
  • Properly manage dies, tooling, materials, and production waste.
  • Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Report equipment and tooling problems.
  • Maintain a safe and organized production area.

Qualifications

  • Experience with die-cutting, converting, print finishing, or related manufacturing equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read production specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position works on the production floor. The essential functions typically require the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for most of the shift.
  • Lift, carry, push and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment for heavier loads.
  • Bend, stoop, reach and use the hands and fingers repeatedly to handle materials and operate controls.
  • See clearly at close range to inspect printed materials and read specifications and measuring tools.
  • Handle and install dies and tooling.

The work environment involves operating industrial equipment with moving parts, moderate to high noise levels, and exposure to inks, solvents, adhesives and paper dust. Required personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and hearing protection, is provided and must be worn.
