Position Summary

Doxprint is seeking a skilled Offset Press Operator to operate and maintain offset printing equipment used in the production of certificates, diplomas, specialty documents, labels, and other high-quality printed products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for press setup, make-ready, production, quality inspection, and routine operator maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate offset printing equipment.
  • Review work orders, production specifications, and approved proofs.
  • Prepare paper and other approved substrates for production.
  • Perform press make-ready and adjustments.
  • Monitor registration, color, density, and overall print quality.
  • Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections.
  • Maintain consistent quality throughout production runs.
  • Record production quantities, waste, and downtime.
  • Perform routine press cleaning and operator maintenance.
  • Identify mechanical or printing problems and report them promptly.
  • Follow procedures for handling customer-sensitive and controlled production materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe press area.

Qualifications

  • Previous offset press experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of offset printing principles and press operation.
  • Understanding of registration, color control, paper handling, and print quality.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet production schedules.

Preferred Experience

Experience with specialty or security-oriented printing is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position works on the production floor. The essential functions typically require the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for most of the shift.
  • Lift, carry, push and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment for heavier loads.
  • Bend, stoop, reach and use the hands and fingers repeatedly to handle materials and operate controls.
  • See clearly at close range to inspect printed materials and read specifications and measuring tools.
  • Distinguish colors and fine visual detail to evaluate color, registration and print quality.

The work environment involves operating industrial equipment with moving parts, moderate to high noise levels, and exposure to inks, solvents, adhesives and paper dust. Required personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and hearing protection, is provided and must be worn.
